Rapper, and notorious moron, T.I., referred to Atlanta as “Wakanda” a few weeks back as the George Floyd riots began. The black community itself chided him for this childish rhetoric. However, given the ATL’s massive black population (somewhere around 50%) and the events of yesterday with their District Attorney Paul Howard, it appears that T.I. was not far off in referring to Atlanta as an African country. Remind me again, how is justice dealt out in African countries?
11 charges against the police officer involved in Rayshard Brooks shooting, namely, murder. After the death of Black Floyd, hardly anyone will be surprised at these types of charges. After all, the DA Paul himself seems like an upstanding black role model being the first African-American District Attorney in Fulton County. We’ll politely gloss over the fact that Paul himself is being probed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for doubling his salary through improper use of non-profit funds.
What is surprising, or at least appalling, is the blatant dishonesty that Howard tries to pull on the citizens of Georgia. To claim that good ol’ Rayshard “Never presented himself as a threat”- when on camera the whole world can see Brooks violently resist arrest, assault two police officers multiple times, steal a taser from them, and then shoot that taser at one of the officers- well, that’s a bit too much lying to swallow..
If you need a refresher on how Upstanding Citizen Rayshard Brooks (convicted felon for beating his wife and daughter) comported himself during the interaction with Atlanta police, please reference this video.
As far as short-term fallout that will certainly become compounded in the long-term as police across the country see the writing on the wall, many of the good officers of the Atlanta PD decided to not show up to their shifts last night after the press conference.
The Atlanta Police Department (APD) said on Wednesday evening that they are seeing a “higher than usual” number of police officers not coming in for their shifts. This comes just hours after Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard announced that the police officer who shot Rayshard Brooks last week was charged with felony murder.
The statement from APD came after numerous reports began to swirl online suggesting that police officers were walking off the job in response to Howard’s announcement.
APD tweeted: “Earlier suggestions that multiple officers from each zone had walked off the job were inaccurate. The department is experiencing a higher than usual number of call outs with the incoming shift. We have enough resources to maintain operations & remain able to respond to incidents.”
“They’re callouts, not walk offs, mkay?”
The devil worshippers are finally going to receive their wish of seeing what America looks like without Police. We can only reasonably assume that the result will be an even greater increase in crime than the last time officers were afraid to do their job, which was in the Black Lives Matter heyday of 2014-2016, when we saw a 23% increase in the number of homicides country wide. But, it will be tough to speculate just how much of an increase we can expect, after all, during that period our beloved police officers were still clocking-in for a shift.
