What Inflation Fails To Mention

A salary means nothing until it is put into a context.

You can make only $25,000 a year, but if your housing, healthcare, and food only cost $12,000 annually, then you’re living like a king. Conversely, you can make $1M, but if those same basket of necessities cost $1.2M, then you are broke.

This is understanding what real wages are. In case you’re wondering, your real wages have been going down steadily since 1971. For me, that’s more than a decade before I was born.

Up until Corona-Chan, the stock markets were doing pretty well. Great. We’re still waiting for a real wage increase.
